Looking to return to teaching after having 3.5 years out raising my daughter

Hi, I'm after some advice really about how to get back to teaching. I qualified in 2009 and completed my nQt year before leaving to have my daughter. I'm not familiar with the new primary curriculum and and wondering if anyone knows of any courses to refresh my teaching knowledge? I'm looking at returning to sept 2015 so want to prep before applying for any jobs.
Thanks in advance.

I have never seen a course like that advertised. Probably best to either do some volunteering or supply or just apply for jobs.

I can't really help much as I've been teaching for ages and an sick to the back teeth of all the changes and want to leave.

Try posting in the staff room forum as more teachers should be able to help you.

The teaching unions often advertise return to work courses in their magazines.

I've been out for 2 years nearly and can't see myself going back. :(

Not sure about courses, but copies of the new curriculum are on the web so Id just download them and read through. By sept 2015, most schools will be pretty geared up as far as planning for the new curriculum goes , so I wouldn't worry about that too much.

Volunteer or supply work is a brilliant idea though as if I was looking at your cv, Id want to be sure you had more recent teaching experience. That will also give you a more hands on teaching experience of all the changes that have happened in the last few years.

Good luck

Thanks everyone :) yes shall try to download new curriculum. I contact a few local schools to volunteer but no one wanted me! I was surprised. Supply would be my best route I think. I had terrible experiences of supply when I was newly qualified so hopefully will be some more positive ones this time round :)
