Enhanced terms for older staff?

When I was last made redundant in January 2012, the payments were enhanced for those aged 45+, 50+ etc. I'm at risk again and the company I'm with now hasn't mentioned any enhancements for age. Someone said that it might now be illegal (i.e. age discriminating). Do any of you know about this? If it's not illegal I will want to suggest this enhancement. Thank you!

www.gov.uk/redundant-your-rights/redundancy-pay

You’ll normally be entitled to statutory redundancy pay if you’re an employee and you’ve been working for your current employer for 2 years or more.

You’ll get:

half a week’s pay for each full year you were under 22
1 week’s pay for each full year you were 22 or older, but under 41
1 and half week’s pay for each full year you were 41 or older

Goodness me I hope you're not a professional HR person - you clearly didn't read my post at all!

Being rude to someone is not going to get you anywhere on here!!!

As the government allows older workers to get enhanced statutory redundancy pay does that not answer your question!
