Any advice appreciated please.
Been working in a company for 8 months and been recently promoted to manager of the customer service team.
Challenges are work life balance- i ain't got none! Have 3 kids and am juggling childcare using family and partners availability as he's self employed.
Come home mentally exhausted and physically tired....dont do much mummy stuff and guilt is creeping in big time.
im at work til 6.30 most days, rarely take lunch and am exhauasted by weekend so sleep saturday away!

I ? most of work although manager stress creeping in!! :-0

Anyone got any advice on how to fit it all in as a mum and stressed employe??

Um, is any delegation possible? This is what my boss keeps telling me to do. Apart from that, you have to look after yourself, or you will be no use to anyone (work or family). You MUST take a break every day. The world will not stop turning you know. Stop, get away from your desk, eat. Even if it's only 10 minutes, it's a start. Then try adding a short walk outside. Don't drink too much caffeine - switch to tea, or water. You only need to make this work one day at a time.

Other things: online food shopping, stop ironing, batch cook and freeze, get partner to cook at least some of the time?

Thanks just say no. I've inherited a team of ten and amnin a completeley new role so not fully confident on what i shoukd be doing . Im still doing my old job and managing too so always playing catch up on my own work as team are asking me questons now all day long....no manageent training at all although ive asked for it!

Im do a lot of the practical house stuff..cooking and cleaning is done -never gonna win awards....but im ok with that.

its the emotional and physical stuff...i end up shouting at kids coz im tired, sex life non existenet as hes a plumber so physically tired daily too...dont do much with kids so theyre spending most of their time at home watching tv games, ps3 or reading...

I know im spending too much time at work, and i love being there, just know it cant carry on long term so nd to leave on time! Dh and kids starting to say i love work more than them :-(

It seems not right that you should be having to do your old job as well as a new one that you are still getting to grips with. Can you discuss this in a non-emotive way with your line manager, with the intention that there is a time limit on the transition, so that after date X you will no longer have to do your old job.

Is your line manager aware of how much you are doing - has someone else not stepped up to take on your old job?

I was working long hours, then doing emails during evenings and weekends, sitting at 2am making 'To Do' lists because I couldn't sleep. It was a constant battle to prioritise all day, every day. I did eventually realise that I was partly responsible for choosing to work all hours, not take breaks, work at home etc, and that it I could change things if I really want to. I have high standards and am therefore not a natural delegater (aka control freak!!), but have had to learn to let go - otherwise I would have burnt myself out. Sound familiar at all?

Remind yourself what your priorities are each day. Eg, if you want to prioritise doing something with the children, make an 'appointment' with yourself and it's more likely you will be able to make the time to do it, and enjoy it.
