Need help boosting website and fb traffic

Hi,

My business has just launched, serving the north east of Scotland.

Can any of you lovely ladies help me boost traffic to my site and also get some more Facebook likes for my page?
I'm reluctant to start an expensive online ad campaign just yet, but feel there is no other way!!!

I don't suppose I'm allowed to post the company name on here to access local mums Sad

Have you been on touch with your local Mumsnet? I am Mumsnet Cheshire and there are some in the North East, dependent on where you are, where are you? Then I can point you in the right direction.

North East Scotland not the North East!

Letthemtalk · 01/10/2014 16:55

What type of business is it?

Sleepybunny · 01/10/2014 17:30

No I haven't checked out the local page, I wasn't sure if I was allowed to advertise a business on here. I'm based in Aberdeen.

It's a soft play/play equipment hire service for birthdays, Christenings etc.

The website is www.tumblebeesevents.com

Would love some feedback on the website too!

Actually having had a look at the local page, it seems a bit quiet.

I've posted something there anyway in hope!

Do you have a web site that is visible on the internet?

Cindy34 · 03/10/2014 10:54

Do you use twitter? That can be great for finding local events and commenting on local issues. By commenting on local issues you will get known locally and if the twitter account has a picture of your equipment, link to website, then local people may take a look.
Knowing about local events may give you places to offer hire, or for you to have a stand to advertise to local audience.
The key is local, as you probably do not want to be travelling too far, probably no more than 1.5hrs drive I guess.

Advertise in traditional media as well as using things online, for example in publications aimed at parents. Is there an Aberdeen Families Guide?

Don' be scared to use long domain names, such as AberdeenSoftPlay.co.uk AberdeenSoftPlayHire.co.uk
They cost around £10 and can be redirected to a specific page on your website, which can have relevant text and images. That may come up better in organic searches on google and other search engines as they take into account the domain name.

Sleepybunny · 04/10/2014 15:54

124newname, I'm not quite sure what you mean.

Excellent advice Cindy34, I'm now on Twitter @tumblebeesevnts. I'll actively source out some relevant people to follow.
Also do you mean I could purchase a more descriptive domain name and redirect it to one of my pages? I didn't realise you could do that

Thanks for all the advice

A large part of SEO is integration. Things like backlinks are gold. Google now puts even more focus in something called breadcrumbs which will help a great deal.

Copy is one of the most effective ways to get your website out. Writing a blog and linking well enables search engines to find you more easily. The bigger and brighter the fish, the more noticeable it is...

I hope this acts as useful insight to you. You don't need to pay thousands for a company to do this either. It's stuff that anyone can do. :)
