I need some advice. I hate my job.
The company I was working for up to Oct 2013 was taken over by another company. My employment was transferred to them.

I'm a manager and get a lot of perks company car, mobile phone, laptop, health care, good pension... So what am I moaning about?

I just don't like the company, the way they act towards the existing management team which I'm part of is disgusting. They openly slate us, but whilst doing so put extraordinary amounts of pressure on us or 'sweat the assets' as they like to walk round saying.

We are micro managed whilst giving us loads more work to process without right, structure, resource, processes to support it. Therefore we cannot complete and work piling up everywhere.

Don't like how they treat others, bullying us into staying late, being accountable for every eventuality.

I have a passion for art so would love to do that full time. Or get a job in an art capacity.

I have worked in my role for 10 years and really need a change.

I want to start a family next year and don't want to be in such a high pressure job.

Last year I had a miscarriage which devastated me and my partner.

Work are paying for me to go to Uni . But I would give it all up to be happy. To feel happy.

My dad died at Christmas, after I found him after a heart attack he took a week to die. I don't want to die like that never taking a chance on something Iove,

I could do with your help

Thank ylu

your new employers sound vile. I also work for a company I despise who have lied to me and overwork me. I also get alot of perks, similar to you. I cannot afford to leave.

can you? if you were to throw in the towel could you survive financially? do you have dependents, a partner who works. would you be expected to back uni fees?

my advice would be don't leave until you have something else to go to. unless you are very financially secure.

I also dumped a career 10years ago that I wasn't happy with, went back to uni. never looked back, but you have to get the finances right. I was offered redundancy and took a large lump sum. if your company has been taken over and they are 'sweating the assets' you have been there 10yrs I'd there a possibility they might thin out the management through redundancy? in which case hang in there, the reward could be sweet and pay for much of your art uni dream!
