Boss texting me when on holiday

SuperFlyHigh · 14/07/2014 18:12

My boss texted me to ask me to get the DX post in my way in (legal firm).

However I'm on holiday and back tomorrow and he knows that! So does my colleague!

I don't like this company generally but would this piss you off a lot? I just texted back saying I'm on holiday and back tomorrow as per my holiday leave form.

Sounds like he has forgotten. I wouldn´t worry.

Lord, I think I'm a decent boss, and I have been known to forget exactly when my staff have booked time off. Sounds like a mixup to me; try not to take it personally.

Like PP I've completely forgotton when members of staff are off. Normally reminded by someone else when I ask where so and so is. I don't necessarily think it makes me a bad manager, I just don't have enough space in my head to remember what everyone is doing

My HoD never can remember when I'm off/at meetings/not even working. And he has full access to my diary! It's not something I worry about. We are on holiday this week and DH has just had a text from someone asking him to do on call this week: he told the sender he was just about to pour a cold cider and no not available!

People are human and forget sometimes.
