Should I tell recruiting manager I'm pregnant? Ethical question.

I'm 15.3 weeks at the moment, and have told my colleagues and current boss and HR (not with official form yet though). However my current secondment is ending and I am due to go back to my substantive (junior) role. At the same time however a permanent opportunity in a nearby team has opened up, a promotion, and both my manager, his manager, and even the recruiting manager are all encouraging me to go for it.
However, I don't know if the recruiting manager knows I'm pregnant, or if I ought to tell him - I am pretty sure I don't need to legally, but morally and ethically, is it right to go through the process only to tell him after (if I get offered the job) "oh by the way, I'm starting my mat leave in November"?

It's not relevant to your ability to do the job, and if he doesn't offer you the job because of it it would be unlawful discrimination. So you need to think what value would be added to the process by telling him. My view is don't burden him with information of that nature which he is not allowed to take into account. Allow him the opportunity to make a decision based purely on your suitability for the role.

I agree. You can't 'unknow' something and once you've told him/her it's impossible to know how that information has influenced the decision making process.
