Changing local authorities whilst on maternity.

I currently work for one local authority, and am on maternity leave. I'm due to go back in October after 12 months off. I'm applying for a job with another authority in a different region. Am i right in thinking that I wouldn't have to pay back my occupational maternity pay if I am going to another local authority?

Your maternity policy should be clear about any terms and conditions attached to occupational maternity pay.

You would have to pay it back at my local authority.

You'd have to pay it back at mine too.

With continuous service pensions transfer, and annual leave usually, but no other benefits I am aware of, inc mat pay...

I know of teachers who've changed authority and not had to pay it back. I'd call HR or payroll and ask the question. It's the only way to be sure (and get it in writing before accepting any job!)
