Anything I should know about working in other people's homes?

As you may be able to tell from my user name, I am a crochet teacher (or at least, I was). I haven't run any workshops for more than a year and want to get back into it.

the aim is to offer one to one sessions with local ladies (and men too!) in their own homes.

I don't drive, so I will be using my own time to get to their homes. For that reason I am only advertising locally.

Before I embark on this idea I need to know if there is anything I am overlooking.

Do I need liability insurance, should I charge more or less based on the fact the venue is their own home, should I take refreshments?

I am looking to charge a two tier rate. £40 for 1.5 hours including materials which I supply for a one to one lesson. If they want to invite their friends I will charge everyone £25 each.

I will also offer courses (weekly) at a reduced rate of around £30 per lesson.

Are there special rules about being employed in someone's home? Obviously I will take the usual precautions for my own safety.

I am already self employed and this is just to supplement my income and get me out of the house:)
