Is there a point to raising grievance if problem has been sorted?

Just wondering - had some issues with my (large) employer over messing up my pay over a longer amount of time, was promised it was rectified a couple of weeks ago, and when received payslip yesterday it still wasn't. Send them angry email straight away, also requesting grievance policy.

Now had reply with apology, explanation, promise of BACS payment so I don't have to wait until next pay roll and a copy of the policy.

I'm relieved that for once I got a prompt reply, and it seems to be rectified, but I'm still fucked off that this happened, and it wasn't the first time, was very stressful for me to sort out, so I'm not sure whether I should let it lie now, or still do something to have it basically registered? Or is it pointless and I should just keep a record of email exchanges for future reference?

So to be clear, is it one time the employer has mucked up your pay and it's taken some weeks to resolve, or have they repeatedly buggered it up?

First thing is to wait to see if you actually get the money today. If not, play merry hell. If you do, I would be tempted to write to say you are unhappy that the situation was allowed to occur in the first place and that you'd like assurances that they are looking to address whatever problem initially caused it. Chances are it won't just be you affected and they need to do better in the future.

I can't see any value in pursuing a grievance tbh. They have resolved the issue (assuming you get payment now) and apologised - what would you be seeking in terms of a resolution to the grievance?

On the other hand, if it happens again, I'd be chucking in a grievance pretty quickly.

Tribpot - longer ongoing (2 months) issue, and not first time that it happened.

Flowery - all I'm looking to achieve is that it's being addressed properly, also because it's not unlikely that I'm not the only one affected. Also, just really want to have my disgruntlement on record for future reference if/when it occurs again. Which I hope it won't.

Although as you say, once resolved there's not much more to achieve, I guess.
