Hi all,

I have a meeting arranged in which I am very likely to be told I "have" to start working 24/7 shifts after mat leave which I have a) never worked, and b) are impossible for me to do because of being a lone parent and needing childcare.

I have always worked Mon-Fri 9-5pm (for 3-4 years), but of course my contract is woolley and is written in a way as to allow the employer to get away with anything (murder).

The terms and conditions of this new job are much, much, less favourable than my previous job - they involve driving around all day, much more stress, much more lone working, less pay than every single other support worker doing the same job, in addition to the childcare issue. . .

Does anyone have any tips/suggestions for this meeting? I am already feeling cross about it. My feeling is is that it is a method to "encourage" me out without paying me redundancy.

I don't know if I have the energy to go down the tribunal route as apparently you hardly ever win :(

My advice is the same as it was when you posted an earlier thread about this issue, then didn't come back to the thread.

I suggest you make the points I mention in that thread in your meeting.

Thanks flowery, somehow I ended up making about three copies of one thread and then got in a muddle about what was where . .
