Hi, I'm due back to work in October an I have been dredding it since the day I finished for mat leave, now its the only thing on my mind!I have sat down and worked out over and over and have come to the decision that I will not be returning to work. With the main reason being childcare for both my LOs will be more a month than I will be paid, plus tge fact I DO NOT want to put my baby in nursery!
Anyway, I just wanted to be sure that I dont have to pay back any of my maternity pay, I'm pretty sure I dont just want to be on the safe side, I havent recived anything extra towards my maternity pay.
Second question will any of my benifits change? I didn't receive working tax credit before so I'm not including that. My partner has recently started a job working at sea for a month at a time (another reason I want to be a sahm, I want the girls to have 1 constant parent) but because he counts as a student atm I cannot use any benifit calculators online.
Any help would be much appreciated, thank you in advance x

You won't have to pay back maternity pay if you only received statutory pay.

WRT benefits - just put in the circumstances of you not working and your partner in his new job into the tool.

Have you taken into account the amount of tax credits you will (may) get towards childcare when working out the finances if you do go back to work?

Yes I have counted for tax credits we did not receive working tax credits because of the hours I worked (2hours under the requirements) and because my partners income is counted as a bursery that doesn't top our collective working hours!
