Hello
Please could some of you wise and experienced people share your views on how much information it's appropriate to offer about your existing contacts/experience when approaching potential new employers? (Eg, would it be appropriate to quote feedback from a previous job, and would you do so anonymously?)
My situation is that after a (long) career break, I started working as a freelance proofreader a few months ago. I've done several jobs for a previous employer, which is great, but I now want to approach other publishers in similar fields about working for them.
Thanks for any advice you can give me.

I have client testimonials on my website, not anon. When people send nice emails I ask permission to include their comments. Nobody has ever said no!

I don't have a website but I have a list of clients/testimonials on a CV and most of the work I get is on recommendation. Never be afraid to say you have worked for but check they were happy with the job you did before you include them in your client list.

Well done if you are getting work and repeat work! It's A hard area to break into!

Thank you both, that's helpful. Kitchenfairy, I suspect you're right and this will be the tricky bit. Fingers crossed...
