Hi

I have a 17 month old and am pregnant with second due in january. I want to try and generate some money and would either like to work from home part time or work a couple of evenings (therefore avoiding childcare costs),

Any ideas/recommendations?????

pampered chef is v. overpriced kitchen goods rather painfully marketed, IMO. wdn't touch with a bargepole but seems to go down a storm in some areas.

misschief

sorry, v biased. But sure some people can make a good living from it. Think there's a website if you want to check it out. It's all v evangelical.
It's all much cheaper from the high street!

Hi MCMUM

Don't log on all the time. reply to what is it....french designer kids clothes aged 6mth-24, and 2yrs-14 years. £9-30 price bracket 20-30% commission. You hold samples of all stock and do parties/coffee/mums & tots same sort of operation to other party style projects, diff is you get paid monthly on sales of month, which is better, if you have a quiet week then a busy one! Any more info email me? [email protected]

Hi there

I have just joined a Company called Neways. So far, I am very impressed. I hope not to have to go back to work in November to a highly paid but stressful job in the City!

If you would like any more info send me a mail:

[email protected] (sorry it's so long!)

Hoep to hear from you soon.

I think a great thing to do is to start your own company by spotting a gap, that is what I did. I found a gap in the baby market and I think for intelligent mums who are spending a lot of time around babies, this could be a good place to start looking for ideas (although quite a crowded market, there is till room for new things). It really takes a lot of energy to get it off the ground and you really need support of those around you but it is really rewarding to see results and get good feedback.

Have a look at www.mamatoto.co.uk
It is a similar idea to phoenix cards, mini IQ and all the others but for pregnancy to school age. I joined this year and it's going really well with very little effort. Your customers can now buy online so you don't actually have to do anything if you don't want, though your commission is less this way than if you place the orders and drop off the products - you can run parties, leave catalogues at nurseries/swim classes etc... that's the way to really make good money.

Sorry for delay in responding - new to posting, and generally only access at work...

Pampered Chef - I thought that it was expensive when I first saw it, but since using it I think that it is worth every penny. Most things have a long guarantee, and company very good with this. Cooking is fantastic in pans and stoneware, and timesaving - don't need to turn things on stoneware, and pans and stoneware exceptionally easy to wash.

Pamperedchef.com to see info.

I have met people giving up their part-time work as civil servants as they are earning as much through Pampered Chef, and some people are making it their career (£100K + pa, although this is exceptional).

I wouldn't have got into it if I didn't like and use the products - and wouldn't be recommending it if I thought that it was overpriced. No hard sell required - it sells itself.
