utility warehouse network marketing

I have had a long chat with my local utility warehouse bloke who has nearly sold me on the idea of becoming an agent. I realise that it involves selling and that you get out what you put in but the package that he is talking about is really quite fair.

I just wondered if any of you lovely folk have any experience that you would like to share with network marketing or utility warehouse?

I do have uh for home and office utilities and find the company to be excellent from a consumer point of view.

Network Marketing is the business of 21 century. I recommend you check out the compensation plan and the growth of the company and whether the company has globalized yet.

From what I can gather, it's basically a pyramid scheme. The 'deals' that it offers are not even the cheapest deals that consumers can get just by becoming a customer of any of the companies. If you're happy to take part in a pyramid scheme, then do it. If you're not, don't.

what is a pyramid scheme?

Check what is the "training" outlay and how wide your territory is, will you be an exclusive UW rep for your area or one of several?

These kind of schemes work superbly for the first entrants, and less so as more sellers enter the market and in turn each seller has less households to target.

My opinion of network marketing is that it can sit nicely alongside other businesses but not really be a business itself. I know a successful Arbonne consultant who owns a gym.

I'm a landlord and DH is a Utilities Warehouse consultant. We offer it to my tenants and the tradespeople I hire.

If your work/life means you have a flow of people who could benefit from the products/service then it can work nicely. However, we annoy the Utility Warehouse people because we refuse to pitch to our friends and only mention it if they bring up utility bills.
