Hello

I have a little boy who is 17 months old and I have been at home full time with him. My old job would not let me go back 3 days so I did not return. I am pregnant with my second which is due in January. My old work have said that I could temp in my old team in a lower position 3 days a week (22.5 weeks) from mid september to end of december. There would be no stress and I could leave on time etc. I am not sure what to do as I would be paid less than my previous job and I would come out with about £85 after childcare and NI. I am not sure whether it is fair to my son to put him in a nursery for 3- 3.5 months and then take him out again when I finish work to have the second. I did enjoy working in my old team as it was working with jewellery and a bit of money would help but I would also miss my son. I love him to bits. We are also putting our house on the market end of sept and will be moving into our other house. What should I do ? Would I be better working 2 evenings a week where there is no childcare cost? What sort of job would let me do 2 evening a week.

Any advice would be appreciated!!

Thank you

Thats a tricky one! Im a Nanny, and have worked in a Nursery aswell, I would say that it will be quite tough on your son, could take a good month to settle in, and to then be taken out again could be very unsettling, and with a new baby in the family shortly after would add to it. Sorry probably not what you wanted to hear!! Do you not have any friends or family that could maybe have him on those days? Hopefully other people can think of some better ways to earn money whilst at home or in the evenings.

Hi thanks for your message. I completely understand what you are saying and think you are right. I don't have any family who could look after him and I would not feel right asking my friends. I just need a few ideas on how I can make some money and maybe use my brain a bit.

Any ideas anyone??????????????????????

Its tricky, there is a good website that has a list of franchises, and different companies that you can work from home for as a SAHM but at the moment its on my dp's laptop at work! When I get it I will put a post up of the address for you!
Hope something comes up more suitable
