Have posted something similar to this before but now unsure what to do.

I have been bullied, raised a grievance (which hasn't been resolved) and I am working on getting out of my company ASAP.

However now I've noticed - the main bully is blanking me unless she has to speak to me. No more "Hellos" and so on. I personally DGAF about that (she can be strange anyway) but she is the HR Manager and I have to go through her to book holiday.

There is a temp (friend) who covers for us re holidays. But she is elusive.

In this case what would you do? How to handle it? Ignore the "blanking" and book holiday as usual?

I'm fed up of this all to be honest want to leave ASAP but not easy.

Have I got this right - the bully/subject of your grievance is the HR Manager? Is she a member of a professional body, such as the CIPD? If she is, worth bearing in mind that they have a code of conduct for their members:

www.cipd.co.uk/cipd-hr-profession/about-us/code-professional-conduct.aspx

Not sure I understand the holiday situation - are you required to sort cover before booking? I would follow whatever procedure has been agreed in the past. She can't ignore your holiday requests if it's her responsibility to process/authorise them.

What has the temp got to do with it?

If you need to go through the HR manager to book holiday, just do so. Even if she doesn't say hello to you I can't imagine she'd ignore you/refuse to book your holiday if you directly request her to do so.

OK - to both of you.

The bully/subject of the grievance is now a HR Manager with no qualifications at all. She used to be and still is my boss' main PA.

I am required to sort holiday cover before booking. Fridays are a bone of contention as the PA does not work Fridays and won't cover for holiday taken then.

The HR Manager/PA bullied me with the temp (both close friends in and out of work) and it was the HR Manager/PA who I used to go through to book holiday.

Before that bullying came to a head I contacted the temp re holiday as she covers but she was always elusive could not be found, would not reply etc. so making it hard for me to book holiday.

AFTER the bullying stopped the HR Manager/PA contacted the temp to book holiday - now they have both decided to stop this so I have to ring this temp again who is now elusive AGAIN. Basically it's games.

I am going to carry on as before using HR Manager to book holiday.

Can you just email to book your holiday ?

HelloBoys · 28/01/2014 11:18

pussycat - I can email but last time I did this the HR Manager then came downstairs spoke to me and said can you ring temp.

so then I ring temp and this stupid charade starts again when she doesn't answer, come back etc.

the temp knows exactly what she is doing and how to press my buttons (I'm not rising to that anymore!) I just want to book holiday and take it as is my right.

I would email HR Manager and copy in the temp and your boss and request in the email that they send email confirmation.

HelloBoys · 28/01/2014 11:27

Casmama - that sounds the best option all round!

Thanks.

No problem.

E-mail both the HR/PA person and the temp, copying in the PA's boss.

"Dear Both

I am writing to confirm that I will be taking annual leave from X date, returning to work on X date.

Temp - On the instructions of HR/PA I have attempted to discuss this with you by telephone on X date, X date and X date, however you have not yet come back to me/returned my calls/answered my messages. I trust you will be available to cover my leave, as per the usual arrangement.

HR/PA - If there are any issues with regards to my taking leave on these dates, please feel free to put these in writing by return.

Kind regards"
