I am after advice as to whether you think I will be paid for sick
Leave. I work for a very large employer have been off poorly this week and now signed off for 3 more weeks. However I earn below the national weekly wage for ssp. Can anyone tell me could employer pay me under their discretion if they choose to? From looking on web it says if you are not eligible for ssp you need to get a form ssp1(?) and claim from social security? Anyone has any experience of Thais? I've fortunately never claimed nothing for anything or will
I just have to write these wages off?

Your employer can certainly pay you if they choose. Many employers have sick pay schemes where they pay full pay for a time, or half pay, or whatever. Even if there's no specific scheme, there's nothing stopping an employer deciding to pay you if they wish.

If they do not want to pay you, and you are not eligible for SSP, they need to complete SSP1 form. Have a look at this page which tells you about eligibility and what to do if you're not eligible, and has the form.

Thank you flowery that's v helpful. I'm hoping they will pay me as I'm v rarely sick am v reliable and I do
Work for a v large reputable and profitable company. However if I have to go down the ssp1 route does this enable me to claim direct from the benefits agency or would it then depend on how much dp earns etc?

Employment and Support Allowance is the benefit you'd be applying for. I don't know anything about benefits but this page should help.
