Is a recruiter obliged to give feedback?

If you apply for a professional role knowing you more than meet all the criteria in the advert and have had positive affirmation of this from the organization involved, is it acceptable to ask for feedback and ask why you have not been considered? I am concerned because the IT system apparently lost my initial application and this recruitment agent tells me he inputted my CV/cover letter but I have no proof of this. Trying not to out myself but will answer questions if it might help.

Don't think so. I've been really posses off with a certain large bank who invited me to interview for 3 different roles x 3 interviews, promised feedback and then went silent.

Waste of bloody time. Confused

That's a bummer Trooper. These roles are still being advertised but my details are not getting to the organization. I'm just wondering if this recruiter has even done what he is supposed to ie pass my details to the organization who vet and interview.

Sorry should clarify - totally acceptable to ask but rubbish if they ignore. GL

Why not send your details directly to the organisation so you know they have made it there?

Absolutely acceptable - I've given post-interview feedback and have requested it - but it's not a legal requirement to do so. Poor form if you don't though.

My contact will escalate if necessary but I am rather suspicious that he has not entered my application as I have no proof or acknowledgment apart from his personal e-mail which I had to chase up as he did not supply the info he said he would. I would have no problem asking for feedback from an interview but I actually need to get past the recruiter first!! Thanks for your thoughts.
