Tried to google, but am aware that US law is different to UK.

What information are employers allowed to give out? Is salary protected by data protection?

Just accepted a new role, new salary negotiated and agreed. However new employers asking current employers my salary details?

Are my current employers allowed to disclose it?

After all this worry, my current workplace have confirmed they don't release salary detail!

That's good news! The new employer are obviously comfortable that you are worth the salary being offered anyway. Previous salary shouldn't have relevance really.

Very true flowery. I think I'm being paranoid. To some degree like you say we women tend to believe we're not worth it.

I do wonder why they ask, when surely they must know most employers are not going to release it.
