Hi.
I am asking for advice really.i am currently 12 weeks pregnant and work as a trained nurse In a nursing home. The company has No maternity policy and uses statutory maternity pay for employees. As most of the staff who get pregnant are care assistants the rate of £135 a week doesn't affect them too much. I earn more than that a week. In fact more than double. My question is when I go to stay Mat pay will I get the standard £135 a week or a payment that is more similar to MY average weekly wage.

Unless there is something in our contract you will get the statuary pay, no more.

Stat pay is 90% of pay for the first six weeks so you should get that, before the £136 ow.

Additionally there is a set of eight weeks from which your qualifying pay is taken and I think if you do extra shifts in those it can bump up the 90% basis but you should check.

Yes, after 6 weeks it will be £135 only as your company doesn't offer enhanced terms . However any associated benefits of the employment (ie a discount card if working in retail) are retained for the duration of ml.

Statutory mat pay is paid by almost all employers I deal with. Most have employees in the £30-£40k per year bracket and they all receive the same.

As said above you will receive 90% (of your average pay during the qualifying weeks) for the first 6 weeks and then 33 weeks at the current rate of £136 per week.

as others have said. Statutory maternity pay is 90 percent of your earnings for the first six weeks. then the statutory weekly wage of £136.

This is the case whether you earn £15k or £150k
