Can anyone help me reconfigure my hours!

Presently I work 29hrs a week over 3.5 days. My working week is: Tuesday: 08.00-13.00 wed-fri: 08.30-17.30 (hr for lunch). I would like to ideally work 3 days one week and 4 days the following week. So over the 2 weeks I still work a total of 58 hours.

I'm trying to workout my working hours over those weeks though am having trouble with this (numerically challenged today). I have till Wednesday to put my request in writing.

Please can anyone assist in working this out.

So would be approx 8h30 a day ?

How many hours a week is full time in your work? Full time employees are on 36 hr contract and I work 28 hours (0.8 fte) I work 4 days and would work 0845 till 1700 with an hour for lunch. I work with flexi time though so my hours vary to suit me.

8 to 530 Wed to Fri one week, Tues to Friday the other. 1 hour for lunch.

JugglingChaotically · 01/12/2013 20:16

Ignore that is 59.5!
So how about
830 to 530 alternate Tuesdays, 830 to 530 Wednesdays and 8 to 530 on Thursdays and Fridays.
That assumes 1 hour for lunch every day too.

You want to work 58 hrs over 7 days every fortnight.
Thats 8.2857 hours per day. Or in sensible units 8 hrs 17 mins.

Macey78 · 01/12/2013 20:44

Nextphase, that's what I kept coming back with. Full time at our place is 36hrs. Would it be easier to have a half hr lunch.

What about changing your hours slightly, so you work 8hrs 20 a day, with 30 mins for lunch.
So 8.30 to 17.20 on the 3/4 days a week.
And either ask for an extra 10 min pay a week, or just suck up the difference, and be able to be a couple of mins late for work occasionally?

Macey78 · 01/12/2013 21:06

The coming late would probably better my employer would never pay the extra. I'll put it to them though they do like nice round figures. Can only ask.

Thanks everyone for your advice.
