If you work compressed hours, how do you calculate your leave entitlement?

I work fulltime (41 hours) but compressed into four long days with two hours from home on a Friday. My annual leave entitlement is 30 days. If I take Mon-Fri off does that count as 5 days leave or 4 and a bit?

TIA

It would be 5 days. You are contracted to work 41 hrs and are taking that off regardless of how many days you actually do. i do the compressed hours in 4 days ( 1 long day) i calculate my leave in hours, makes it much easier. if i take off a week its 35hrs - what im contacted to do. if its a day its 8 hrs or 10hrs if its my longer day. ( those arent the actual figs but hopefully you get my drift). i also have the option if i take leave on my long day i can work the extra hrs another day so only need to take 8 hrs that day.

You've got 6 weeks at 41 hours, so maybe think of it in hours not days?

Of course! Thank you. I had not thought about looking at it in terms of hours (in my defense I am still suffering from extreme sleep deprivation and baby brain!). I think the challenge is going to me remembering that if I take a Monday off that is 11 hours (so nearly equiv to 1.5 days) but if I take a Friday off that is only one quarter of a standard day.

You still work 5 days, but as one of those days is only a couple of hours, you are best off calculating and booking leave in hours rather than days. I'd suggest speaking to your manager/HR about making that "official" so that everyone knows you book hours rather than days.
