SAHM with practically no CV to speak of to Wa/oHM - possible?

Right, I have hardly a CV to speak of and have had mainly poxy jobs in retail, catering, admin pre dc. I missed a few good opportunities in the past to improve my career/earning prospects but obviously would not change that for the world now that I have two beautiful dc. I do have one good job reference, all other firms I've worked for went under or management changed over. I have been told by several colleagues and employers that I have a very good work ethic.

I'm educated up to A levels and worked from leaving school til 5 years ago just before I fell pregnant with dc1. (I'm 30) I tried to get a job at 10 weeks preg, but no one would have me although I did get job interviews and a job offer (which was retracted when I revealed my pregnancy!)

I want to earn BIG, I want better for myself, my children, our futures. I don't want to have to rely on tax credits or dh's wage. I want to be self sufficient. I'm prepared to work my butt off and now realise that if you want to be a success in life, you need to be a risk taker and go doer. I think I have a lot of potential to succeed.

I've thought of a couple of things I could do that relate to my talents and interests. I feel that would be a good starting point for me, but need to study the market in more detail to see if there is a niche for it/them. I am also doing a short course next your which will bridge me over access courses/further studies I wish to do at the OU/regional college.

How would you best advise me to improve my CV, juggle childcare costs and studying, seek employment/start up a business, etc? Where do I start? Am really needing an extra confidence boost! I don't want to be a sahm or a till operator for the rest of my days. I'm more than prepared to fail A LOT before I succeed. Apologies for the long essay.

Thanks for reading.

I haven't got specific advice but I just wanted to say I really admire your can do attitude And the fact that you say you're prepared to take knock backs and aren't expecting overnight success. I'm sure with a determined approach you'll achieve your goals. And some wise MNers with specific advice will give suggestions

Go to job agencies. You applying is ok but they have access to more vacancies and are excellent at bigging you up to the company! Sign up to as many as possible.

Thanks for the advice/encouragement.

It hadn't occurred to me to get my cv done professionally & 'bigged up'. I'm going to look into that asap. I've put my name down for a volunteer role as I figure that will look good on my cv.

There's a lot I want to achieve over the next few years & it's getting much easier to do so as ds2 grows older. Am very excited at the prospect of putting my aspirations into action.
