Wow, lots going on.
Are you qualified in anything? Got interests in any particular area?
Have you currently a job?

To be frank majority of employers don't want knowingly recruit a pregnant woman. The training, investing in time for you then to go on maternity (that costs them even if its just advertising for a replacement) isn't a great incentive for them.
BUT there's areas of work which will be more accommodating.

What about training or retraining? You could do this now so when baby is here and you are feeling able to leave her then you are one step ahead?

Think about what you can offer and possible courses/training.

Carrie, take a breath. You will be okay. Your baby will be okay.

First of all you need to sort out your financial situation so please speak to the job centre or CAB, who will be able to advise you.

Secondly, regardless of whether an employer 'wants' to discriminate throughout the employment process it is illegal for them to do so. You do not have to tell an employer that you are expecting until you are 25 weeks. You have no obligation to reveal it throughout the recruitment process, although I appreciate that you may be showing!

You will likely find that you are not eligible for SMP as there is a minimum term of employment (I forget what is, my apologies) but you will be able to claim another type of maternity pay, but again the terminology eludes me. I know one one else will know for you.

Do you have the support if your family? There are various charities that can support you through this time and help with getting things ready for the baby, but also give you support emotionally throughout this period.

One step at a time. Best of luck Thanks
