For me for Thurs?
I've read all about the Red Cross international and the in UK. I think I have answers prepared, what else do I need?

Have you combed their website?
Checked their mission statement?
Run through recent news stories on the BBC website to see how their work has been reported in the past two weeks?
These are all things I would expect any candidate to have done and be able to answer some basic questions on.
I expect you have, but you would be amazed at how many perfect competent and suitable candidates I see who have not done all of the above!
I can't believe it is that soon...very best of Anglo-French luck and courage, Rhuby

I am sure lots of other people on here will have top tips for you too XXX

I've combed their site and I know their mission statement. I know what they do in the UK but I will on the news too!

Ta Marina!

Image is of critical importance for them IMO because of operating under sufferance in many parts of the world.
Might be worth seeing what is on the BBC World/World Service sites too...

Marina · 26/06/2006 14:16

Do you want me to have a casual amble in to HQ and see what publications they have for passersby? I expect they have sent you an info pack - and, tbh, it's usually all on their websites these days.

Marina · 26/06/2006 14:19

This story has recently resurfaced: they have gone with a red square rather than a diamond I think
New emblem for IRC

Rhubarb · 26/06/2006 14:21

No info pack sent. I've studied when and how the RC was set up, what the Int RC does and their mission statement, what the UK RC does, fundraising events and so on.
I've had a quick look in the news, just some archive stuff that I can't access anymore about WW2 and then about the ICRC's involvement in Guantanam and the Iraqian prisoners of war.

Aha! Thank you! I was thinking it was the diamond!

No, my mistake - it is a diamond, the "Red Crystal".
Look here for some recent news about the readmission of the Israeli and Palestinian agencies too Geneva Meeting Report

Rhubarb · 26/06/2006 14:32

Interesting reading! It is a fascinating organisation! I'm quite enjoying my research into it. If they don't ask me any of these questions I'm just going to tell them everything I know anyway! I'll blow 'em away with my knowledge!

Funnily enough that little incident does not seem to have hit the international newswires yet gggl.
I really love the way you can pick up a regional paper in France and find out right away what gives locally. Ouest France rocks and the mighty La Voix du Nord runs it a close second. Personal favourite - the moped riders coming off at crossroads and being transported to the CHU

{Hijack} - Marina, Corsica in less than two weeks. Am very excited. Any last-minute "Must sees"?
