Internal interview at 30 weeks pregnant

What the hell do I wear?
Don't know how formal I should be for internal job interview - it's within the same team as I work at the moment but a different reporting line.
In my industry I would normally wear a suit as standard for an interview but none of my suits fit.

They know I am pregnant (hard to miss) so I am half thinking they will understand if I am not dressed very formally but then I am worried that I am already on the back foot due to being pregnant so don't want to give them any reasons to mark me down.
I know they should disregard my pregnancy and treat me the same as everyone else but have to be realistic that it is awkward as I would not be able to start the job till I return from mat leave.

I am probably overthinking this but any advice welcome.

A smart dress?

I did an interview at 38 weeks in a top and trousers. Suit would have been the normal choice but of course nothing for by then.

I mentioned it at the end of the interview and both the interviews said it was irrelevant. I can see with hindsight it was unnecessary to mention it. but like you I felt a bit uncomfortable with not having 'made an effort' for the promotion board.

Good luck. I was so ppleased I made the effort to get promoted before I took a year off and became sleep deprived!

Sorry for posting and then disappearing last night, I have a 10pm mumsnet curfew and didn't realise how close I was when I posted.

A smart dress is a good idea but I don't have one and after a quick internet search I can't find a suitable one that is in stock and reasonably priced.

I hate hate hate my plain black maternity trousers as they don't stay up but they are smarter than leggings so I think I will have to go for them and the smartest top that fits.
Hopefully with heels and makeup I will feel professional and interview ready.

Good to hear about your positive story crochet.

Yes a smart blazer is just the thing. Plus it will be useful to throw on in a months when you need something to quickly cover the pukey face prints on your shoulders (or was that just me?!)

Good luck!

I did an internal interview at 30 weeks, my bump bounced around the entire interview. I managed to find a smart shirt and skirt and wore it with a waterfall carrie.

By the way, I got the job, it was great!
