Bit of market research....

Would you use a shop where you dropped off your clutter, they sold it on ebay for you taking a percentage and sent you a cheque in the post?

Yes yes yes

WideWebWitch · 14/06/2006 21:22

No. I might if I could call them and they collected it though. But I am spectacularly lazy.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 14/06/2006 21:23

yep

pecka · 14/06/2006 21:24

Forgot to mention - collection would be an option

Cant see it working tbh. The amount of excellent quality stuff i try to flog and fail miserably at give away prices. I can see it as a labour intensive record keeping nightmare for whoever takes it on.

Whizzz · 14/06/2006 21:25

sounds good to me! Can I send you some stuff then !Grin

SaintGeorge · 14/06/2006 21:26

Works in America - there is a company doing just that.

acnebride · 14/06/2006 21:28

GOOD idea. it might take me a long time to do so but I would.

Knowing me I would end up buying my own stuff back ('oh that looks nice - I used to have one that colour' etc)

schneebly · 14/06/2006 21:29

Yep - good idea IMO. Smile

pecka · 14/06/2006 21:30

any name ideas for a shop such as this

It's a bit like the NCT selling stuff for you and giving a %age back - if it works for them, maybe this would work.

Wouldn't use it myself tho' as I enjoy ebay wheeling & dealing.

SaintGeorge · 14/06/2006 21:31

The American one is called \link{http://www.i-soldit.com/index.asp\ISOLDIT}

Feistybird · 14/06/2006 21:32

acnebride · 14/06/2006 21:32

WeBay

Stuff and Money

Baby One More Time

Feistybird · 14/06/2006 21:33

In fact they have \link{http://www.isolditonline.co.uk\UK Franchises}

MrsMuddle · 14/06/2006 22:12

We have one in Glasgow. Not a franchised one - an independent. I've not been in, but it's busy when I pass. I'd use it, cos I HATE wrapping and posting. Which is why I never sell on ebay.

twickersmum · 14/06/2006 22:27

definitely yes.
just dropped some of my stuff at recycling plant last week.. fed up trying to give it away and it was taking up too much space at home. couldn't face NCT sale or anything. Charity shop didn't want it (too big - baby bath, electric swing etc.)

FrayedKnot · 14/06/2006 22:31

Yes. There is a place in London that does it, isn;t there?

I could only see it working for furniture & other high value items though.
