Hi janski31, just saw your post and my heart went out to you. I'm sorry you're feeling flat at the moment.

This next bit may sound rather 'PollyAnna' but I'm going to say it anyway. I believe wholeheartedly that everyone has a talent, something they can do better than the next person. Sometimes it's a talent they don't even yet know they have! That means you've got something that you are better at than the next person.

Sometimes your gut instinct will lead you towards your talent (if you don't already know what it is). Is there anything that you feel drawn towards, have a particular interest in, or that someone else has complimented you on for doing well? What are you good at? (I don't believe you aren't good at anything, despite what you said!) What do you enjoy doing? Try to think as widely as possible. You may even want to sleep on it and see what ideas float to the surface.

When it comes to working from home, doing something related to your talents or interests is more likely to be enjoyable and satisfying for you. Sorry that this response asks more questions than it answers, but without knowing you, it's difficult to know what to suggest.

Good luck!

There's loads of options like Body Shop parties, Avon, Phoenix cards etc. if that's the sort of thing you like. Personally I'm doing a degree rather than working - I hate the idea of things like "Parties" and wanted something to keep my mind active rather than necessarily wanting to earn (although long term hopefully the degree will increase my earning potential).

I would second doing study at home while your dc's are little. Set yourself up for when they are older and you have more free time on your hands to get a career going?
I work from home writing stories and selling them - for peanuts really but I love doing it. I also am returning to college to train as a sports therapist this September as I have a son with disability so need to work from home to be able to be at home to care for him. I looked about for a course I knew I would enjoy firstly then asked, could I work this as a job from home? The answer was yes, I have the spare room and I like alternative therapies and massage so I won't hate doing it. Then my eldest came in on it and qualified as a nail tech and beauty therapist - she's coming into business with me when I qualify.
There are always things you can do op - it requires a little thinking and the first thing you have to think is - what do I like? Because nobody wants to work a job they hate be it from home or not.
Good luck - just get thinking.

Have also contacted the local college to see what courses start in september.

Good for you - I remember feeling just like you but my circumstances were a little different. I used to have a good job pre-kids & then part time when I had one, but then I had two & I got very poorly. It reached the stage when I couldn't go out to work anymore which is why i set up my business.

I just wanted to say, if you work from home you must make sure that you still have "outside contact" i.e. it can be really lonely and you dont' realise it until you stop going out to work. I just noted that you were feeling a little low so this is something to watch out for - I am rubbish about it, partly because of the work from home thing, but also because I find getting out so difficult.
Anway, I think the college idea sounds excellent, set yourself up for later on, keep the brain working in the meantime & if there are a couple of things you can make on the side & sell whilst doing all that so you have a few more pennies in your pocket, even better.
I wish you lots of luck & don't forget to come back if you need a bit more inspiration! xx
