hi there this may seem stupid but ive never had to resign from a job and im not sure how to go about this correctly.
a bit of background for you to understand. I work in the nhs and have done for 5 yrs. but I have ME and had periods where I have been unable to work over the past ten years (im 31) ive only been off sick in this job with hyperemesis in both pregnancies. and my work seemed to understand. after my first child I revised my hours to 24 not stipulating days or shifts as the department I work in is a 24/7 pattern and I didn't think it was right to ask for special treatment. now after my second child was born I have had bad PND and panic attacks and had phased return to work but this has also triggered my ME and I fell downstairs and damaged my back so I have not been in work for 4 months.
so my issue lies with work is slowly becoming less understanding, and I do feel pushed out with colleagues, and after having a 'scare' with my health both physical and mental ive been re evaluating where I want to be in life. and I have applied to university to go back to my previous career in hospitality management.
so im wondering how do I resign professionally without really offending my managers as they have in the past supported me. I had only just had my review where I passed with flying colours so I know my work has been of a good standard.
I know im probably over thinking this as I do tend to worry lol and work probably dont really care about me personally. but what do I include in the letter........help is much appreciated thanx
