conflict of interests? teaching assistant position at my child's school?

My partner seems to think my application for a teaching assistant position will be looked on unfavourably because my dd attends the same school (a small infants, so only a few classes). I'm expected to assist across the whole school if accepted. I'm not at all sure how she will react to me being in school either as I'm always going to be 'mummy' aren't I.
This is the only job vacancy I've seen in months Confused. My partner is so desperate for me to get a job he'd rather my dd move schools! lol.
Wdyt?

Plenty of kids cope just fine with their parents working in their schools, you just have to explain to your child that at school you are Mrs X and you can't treat them like you would at home, e.g. No hugs/kisses until the end of the day. I was taught by both my parents, I wasn't affected it!

if it is then there are loads of people in the same position -there are serveral mums who work as TA as my DCs school and a number of teachers, just apply - I would say the TA roles do get loads of application though

What Natasha said. A large proportion of the other TAs will be in the same position, it's fine.

I was at a school where my mum was a teacher and my brother was at a school where my dad was a teacher. For obvious reasons its fairly common.
