Cold and reserved

Bit of a strange question but hoping someone can help. Had feedback from an unsuccessful interview saying I came across as cold and reserved. My southern husband things this is very odd as he thinks I'm often too friendly and overly open in "a northern way." Does anyone have any advice on how to come across less cold?

A slight nodding action, when someone is making a point, or before you answer a question helps.

I wouldn't worry. For whatever reason, your face doesn't fit. Interviewers make assumptions about candidates that aren't always accurate.

Keep plugging away. The right job will come up.

One employers "cold and reserved" will be another employer's "in control and professional". Think nothing of it - you won't be offered every job you apply for.

If you are not cold and reserved, I would ignore it. Coulda just been a wierd panel. Good luck for next one.

Hope your next interview went much better :) I agree that they may just have been an odd panel. Or if you were very nervous they may have misread your nerves as being too cool and came to a very loose assumption based on it - either way, doesn't sound like the best, most nurturing work environment, so maybe you had a lucky escape.

Certainly, if it's the only time you've been described that way I'd put it down to an anomaly and continue looking for work with nicer people!

What kind of roles are you applying for?

Thanks for the good wishes. Second interview went okay but won't hear for a couple of weeks because their preferred candidate couldn't make the interview date.
First interview was for a Job in HR.
