Feeling rather down about going back to work - especially now new employer are putting small amount of pressure that I should go full time few months into job

Im feeling so sad about leaving kids think I've lost perspective a bit.

Please tell me positive stories of working part time!!

happy mum, happy kids. my ds really enjoyed nursery and later childminder. i think it is good for kids to have other adults as well as mixing with other kids. also good example to kids about working. its really nice to have proper breaks that is until i went into teaching.

good luck!!!1!

I really like working part time (most of the time - but that would be the same whatever I did, you always have off days). My employer was really flexible and I could state the hrs/days I wanted to do. I now work 18 hrs pw over 3 days which means that dd is not in nursery for really long days which was one of my concerns. Have been at work for nearly 6 months and think that dd is getting the best out of it. She gets a mum who loves the time they spend together, plus a great nursery where she mixes with other babies/ adults. Hope I haven't gone on too much about it, I really believe it was the best thing to do for dd as well as me.

I'm like Starsky... but I knew it, was so glad to get the work dimension back in my life. Hope you can find ways to make it feel for you, Becca'r.

I do three days a week in the city. I hate the journey but love being in a buzzy office where when i ask someone to do something, they do it, and don't have a tantrum. I also like the fact i get to drink a cup of tea while it is hot
I adore my two days at home doing mummy type stuff. Having friends after school etc.
I did four days a week after ds1 but that felt very much like full time. When i started 3 days per week after ds2 I found it was just the right balance.
Good luck.

I love working part-time (three days a week) - so much so, that I can't ever see myself actively wanting to work fulltime again (although that may change!). I enjoy the company of adults, using my brain and learning new skills, but I don't care about office politics any more - it all washes over me.

I wasn't looking forward to going back, but I'm glad I did - it's worked well for us.

I work four days a week. The girls have a great childminder and a big circle of friends and loads of activities; I do something I enjoy, which makes me feel fulfilled in a way I wouldn't if I were with them for those four days; we have a day together mooching around and seeing people and just spending time together...oh, it's lovely. I adore my daughters, and I also get time away from them.
