I was going to say Scullery, but somebody already did :)

Kit(s)ch is the cleverest but could confuse people.

FigAndPear · 17/04/2013 14:49

Single words sound good just now. Not sure why, but it sounds classy and funky at the same time. Sort of the way all lowercase did a few years back.

TomArchersSausage · 17/04/2013 14:52

Single words do remind me of those wooden letters spelling out the bleedin obvious words about the house though.

I like the play on Kitch n bits, very cleverSmile

I don't get the S in kitsch.

Sh1ney · 17/04/2013 18:08

If something is kitsch then it is cute, maybe vintage-y, charming etc...

It's a play on words ...kitchen- kitch- kitsch

MrsSham · 17/04/2013 18:22

Of course, i knew that! mental block. Looking at it on the screen I was attempting to pronounce the s.

NotYouNaanBread · 18/04/2013 08:11

The shop names I like best are the ones that make it seem as though it's been there for generations. I love the name of the online sewing shop Merchant & Mills, for instance. You would then have any other branding done in that old style too, as if it hadn't been changed since your great-grandfather's time, you know?

Kitchen & Co.
Kitchen & Sons
Bakewell & Co.
Bakewell & Sons

(& Sons adds to the whole heritage idea)

Avoid kitsch unless it's genuinely clever - it's so 80's!

And sadly Cook (which I like a lot) has already been taken (suggested above) by a chain - www.cookfood.net/ - if they came to your town etc. it would cause confusion.

ChocsAwayInMyGob · 18/04/2013 09:32

I like what Naan Bread says. Go for Traditional. I like Bakewell and Sons.

It's classic and traditional and homely and sounds respectable.

ChocsAwayInMyGob · 18/04/2013 09:33

Yes avoid Kitsch as not everyone will spell it right and some people will think you can't spell kitchen. It also puts pressure on you to make everything quirky.

How about "Bake Well"?

MerryMarigold · 18/04/2013 09:41

Another who doesn't like Kitsch, though I quite like Kitch actually (I abbreviate everything).

I wouldn't go pretend heritage unless you are going to use your name which could be quite cool. Or make it funky like Spoons & Co.
