That's it really, am permanent employee in public sector, organisation is being dissolved and organisation taking over is offering a two year contract, do I have to take it? It's not the same terms and conditions is it? Can I argue I don't want to give up my long service for a two year contract?

You shouldn't need to give up your long service. If you are made redundant and then start a completely new job you'll get your redundancy. If this job is instead of redundancy then your service will just keep accruing, you'll just be redundant in two years instead of now, unless its extended or something else comes up in the meantime.

That advice sounds right. There's something called TUPE which means if you are being transferred over you will keep your existing level of pay and benefits (including pension).

They're not using TUPE, using something else but you definitely think I'd get redundancy in two years, that's good to know. Thank you so much.
