I have a week left before maternity leave and a new chairman has just started - is it worth possibly falling out with him?

As he has removed almost all evidence of me (all comments i made bar one, some of which should directly influence how we proceed) from the minutes of our last meeting and attached some research about marketing (done and presented by me) as if it is from him and all his idea.

He is coming in today and part of me is so furious and upset I want to sort out why this is, and part of me thinks I should just ignore it.

Well Enid, if you've nothing to gain other than stress, leave it, you're off in a week. Hope the meeting goes ok.

oh no Enid, the last thing you need right now. I would be furious, I must admit. Obviously better to sort it out if you can, but hope it doesnt spoil your maternity leave anyway.

is new chairman otherwise ok and reasonable person? (remember you telling us about the last berk you had to deal with).

it depends whether you think you will still be irritated when you get back to work in - when - a year? to be honest its the kind of thing that might still cause me entirely reasonable but disproportionate crossness into the future so i would tackle it in the manner puddle suggests.

he has incorporated my comments into the attachment

I didnt bang on about it, couldnt be arsed, the meeting went well and he left on a good note. I blinded him with loads of ideas and marketing info and details of exhibitions I would like to run and he was very positive and pleasant.

am pleased with the way it went tbh and I didnt get all arsey and uppity which is a bonus atm

Excellent. Before i saw that it went okay today i was going to say make sure you tackle any issues or concerns you have before you go on ML.

I didnt with my previous employers and only after having been on ML for a few months realised how wrong and inappropriate my line manager had been.

Now i am going to tribunal over it it is reflecting on my case badly that i left it some months to complain. (Obviously I know how busy etc i was with new baby etc etc but it doesnt win much points in tribunal cases apparently...)

I'd let it go at this point. Not really worth pissing off the boss. But deffo take a copy of your pst file on your way out for maternity leave.... just in case you want to document your involvement later.

Uwila · 30/03/2006 17:20

Oh good. Well done! Grin

Glad it went well, Enid. Always worth challenging this, IMO and IME as it might make them think twice about shafting someone else in the future.
