I want to earn a bit of cash for xmas, any ideas ?

I have my ds at home full time with me, I don't have any qualifications and my dh works all different shifts. I have looked at Avon, Scentsy and Kleeneze but I'm not too sure about any of these. Anyone got any experience with them or does anyone know of anything I can do to earn a bit of cash for xmas ?

I am a Pampered Chef consultant and I love it!

It's really easy to get started and its fun. I do cooking shows in people's homes and earn commission from sales. The products are amazing quality and you don't have to be able to cook to be a consultant which is a good job in my case!

I looked at other things but was put off by the idea of making deliveries, holding stock and buying products. Pampered Chef do all of that so it doesn't take up too much time and you don't need any extra space in your house. I earned £120 last week by doing one evenings work!

Thanks, but i really dont want to do party plan, plus i know of a few people doing pampered chef, jamie at home stuff already in my area. I don't think there's anything I can do. I'm probably going to have to look for a job !

Have you thought of doing something craft-like at home, such as novelty, specialist soap or candles? Soap making is great. All you need is a bit of simple equipment and a cheap website.

I honestly cant think of anything that would fit in with full time mum and shift patterns. You dont want any outgoings. I am sure you could take in ironing? Least you could pick it up and drop off with children in tow.

Without quals you are stuck there isnt an answer I'm afraid. Agree party plan isnt for everyone.

Lots of shops advertise for christmas cover however, that may clash with childcare and dont forget will affect any tax credits.

What you need is something that will generate cash fast and, bearing in mind childcare etc, party plan does end up being the most flexible option.

However, don't assume 'party' means going out in the evening, hauling a load of 'gear' around. Depending on the product, you can vary the location and time - meet friends during their lunch hour, get the girls round for a 'girls night in' with a difference. If you've got decent IT skills and a webcam record, a video demonstrating your product and put it on YouTube then let all your friends know so they can view it...It's about being creative :-)

Or as Eglantine175 says, if you're crafty you can make things to sell. Soap, cupcakes, girls' cute dresses....

I am an It Works! independent distributor- totally flexible, yes we can do parties but you charge cash to those using the product there and then. The product is amazing and fills a need that many of us have and struggle to improve! Feel free to get in touch if you want to know more about this.

I'm afraid the only other options boil down to getting a Christmas job in a shop probably...

Crikey - forgot to say the obvious also - don't forget good ole' ebay and such like. If you do have old childrens' clothes still in good nick, old Crimbo gifts that you don't really use etc...I recently sold a load of kids and ladies clothes ( I have to add that there was quite a bit of Mini Boden, Boden and other high street names in there...these tend to retain decent value...)and racked up a couple hundred pounds. Sometimes you'd be amazed what people will pay for.

If your partner has any Timberland boots, Nike trainers in good nick they tend to do alright too!

I am a mother of 4 and like most long term stay at home mums decided that I wanted to earn extra cash. Tried Avon, Kleeneze, Oriflame and Agel. They work and they generate income. Depending on the company depends on the financial outlay and amount of "work" required. Humping 200 catalogues about, 3 times a week was not easy. Having an area with Avon with limited customers was too restricted and Agel was all about sales of a not so affordable´ product.Doing makeup parties was taking too much time from my family. I live in Germany since 2006 and have found a company that offers High quality products, cosmetics and perfumes, at very affordable prices. My tools `are a sample case that fits in my handbag and contains 150 fragrance samples. When I go shopping I leave it with the checkout girl in our local Netto. When I go back in a day or 2 there is normally an order for several bottles of perfume. It takes me 10 seconds to talk to the girl / lady and earns me 33%. If the children go to the doctors, I take the samples and call back 2 days later. The physical time I spend per week doing " sales" is around 15 to 20 minutes or 1 hour per month. The rewards from the company are around 300 to 600 ? so an hour of my precious time is well invested. My husband works full time and still manages to show his work mates the samples. If you have any more questions I would be more than happy to answer them. Being out of work for 13 years and trying to get a flexible decent paid job afterwards is like herding cats. Impossible. I am my own boss, have loads of time for my family and earn well from a simple system. The investment was less than 10 pounds !!!

I have just bought some sloe berries off of eBay to make some gin. Paid £10.50 for 1lb inc delivery.
