I have a son 6 and a daughter 2 and am currently expecting another baby in June. I have been a SAHM since dd was born but we desperately need more cash and I desperately need to start using my brain again. I have a degree in English and have had admin jobs before, I'm computer literate and want to find something I can do at home which uses these skills rather than just selling stuff etc. I feel like I'm in a complete rut and my career is non-existent at the moment and the thought of it continuing for another three years until new baby starts nursery is not even worth contemplating. Can anyone give me any suggestions?

cannot give many suggestios but sympathise, SAHM is brain numbingly boring at times. was going to start selling babyclothes but like you said selling seems abit hmm.

With your eng lit degree could you not do a bit of tutoring in out of school hours??

Helping out at a sure start group or something you can also get quals this way.

baby crying gottago
good luck

Had thought of tutoring but with two children in the house after June it will be difficult to have other people come to the house if you see what I mean. After school hours are spent cooking tea and picking dp up fom work, then getting kids to bed etc. Was hoping to do something during the day on the pc or something. Somebody on another thread mentioned doing work for other companies covering sick leave etc and then invoicing them but I can't remember who it was.

You could try AQA, they advertised here a while ago.

But it's not good money, and it's busiest at night.

However, you do have to use your brain!

littlerach who are AQA? I've never heard of them, can you give me any more info?

They are a text answering service who alway require people to work from home, answering the questions that people text in.

You need to have a degree, live in UK or Australia, and have broadband.

Search under Jobs on here, and you'll find it.
Or google AQA or Issuebits.

littlerach · 15/03/2006 15:35

Sorry, have just checked and the ad isn't on here now!

AQA.issuebits.com

Thanks littlerach I'll check them out.

Anyone else with any ideas? I'd be really grateful.
