Hi
Found out about dropshipping a while back but have heard that the profit you make is minimal.
Anyone got experience? How has it been for you? Do you find it's worth the time and effort or not?
Would be really interested to hear opinions!!

Thanks

Nikkinoo

I don't know the name of the rose. The other plants we got all had their proper names on, but this just said climbing rose, purple, very fragrant.

Yes-definately is addictive-just spent 2.5 hours out in the cold clearing up, pulling up weeds and planting the rose.

Bamboo is lovely but tends to grow out of control unless you keep an eye on it. The reason why I picked this rose is because it only grows upto 2m tall which is perfect!!!

Did you prepare the soil then tahira?

Feed it in spring let it grow for a couple of years..get some good organic matter / plant food

When mature take out 1 stem a year to open the plant (so it doesnt get too dense)

Prune off any dead/diseased growth.

DP just told me all that and he has been a hortic lecturer for last ten years and has a garden centre. So of it dies after taking the advice BLAME HIM!!!!!

Good luck

please ask dp about this.

when i bought the plant i picked one out but it had this weird white growth on it -looked like white mould.

i put that one back and picked up this one which i planted today and after i'd soaked the roots for 1 hour (as advsied) i noticed the same growth which wasnt there when i bought it. should i cut it off or is it nothing to be worried about?

tahira its probably just mildew. remove it with mild soapy water. Its only there cos its a bit damp at the moment, its not harmful to plant if you keep on top of it

Good luck honey

Nikkinoo · 20/03/2006 12:04

dp is also intrigued as to why you were asked to soak the roots???

tahira · 20/03/2006 13:36

dunno but the box said so and funnily enough I also checked the bbc website run by Alan Titchmarsh himself (God I'm such a sadcase!!!) and he also recommended soaking for an hour.

Maybe it's because the rose may have been kept in the shop/nursery for some time and the packed roots don't get much moisture???

Your guess is as good as mine!!!

Good news I've bought some Lily landidni bulbs for my planter and an arctic queen clematis for the other with the trellis.

I'll have purple climbing rose at the end of the garden and these stunning lily landini and arctic queen at the front. Hope I don't kill them now Blush.

Thnaks for all your help and advice-you've been a star!!! Wink

tahira · 21/03/2006 21:58

hopefully last question.....

WHAT THE HELL IS MULCHING???? SHOULD I BE DOING IT....WHATEVER IT IS!!!!

OP posts:
Nikkinoo · 22/03/2006 09:32

mulching is when you put organic matter on top of the soil in order to enrich it. This can be homemeade compost, leaf mould, or something shop bought (will ask dp his advice re shop bought one) it stops the weeds coming through too i think. I will veriy this when i speak to dp!!

Nikkinoo · 22/03/2006 20:21

DP said whaddya wanna mulch? it is a top dressing of organic matter to enrich the soil, retain moisture, to stop weeds etc, but he said is it for beds/containers.

do you know that planter that you showed me on the e bay that you were gonna put your cannas in? well mulch for that could be woodchips or stones, small pieces of slate,

tahira · 22/03/2006 22:40

ok great

thats making a bit more sense now. will check out a few websites to see best brands etc.

Thanks!!! Grin

Hi, I drop ship on ebay and make a fortune. I use the following sites Waooga.com and focal price.com. I use there images and product descriptions, changing as necessary, I then add the product at a mark up. When a customer buys the item I go to either of the above websites and buy it, they then send it to my customer, I never see the item - its that simple. Out of the two I prefer Waooga.com it is really simple and easy to use have a look at their drop shipping section it explains it all. and good luck (if ur in any doubt I earned over 3,00 profit between jan to june as a full time mum and housewife)
