Family Support Worker

I have just applied for the role of Relief Support Worker via a Housing Association. I have worked for the NHS for the past 27 years as a nurse, midwife and health visitor but had to resign in March due to ongoing issues with my DS who is autistic. I was constantly exhausted and making mistakes in work. Since March things have settled a bit more and I am looking to do something different. In have made myself available to my old employer but they have a freeze on using Bank staff at the moment so are not using me.

Tbh I am looking for a change and a different way of using my skills. As a HV I always valued the support workers who came in and really heklped families with things like meetings, forms and to get out and about. If I am honest I felt it was in many ways more valuable than my HV input and the most satisfying work I ever did as a HV was the support worker type stuff.

So wish me luck......I am hoping to go back to work - the few months I have spent on benefits have been interesting - I have been broke more frequently but have survived. It's not for me long term though.
