I have two interviews next week and need to know if I have to tell them I'm pregnant.

This is my third pregnancy and by the time I go for the interviews I will be 30 weeks pregnant. To be honest I have been applying for jobs to gain application and interview experience more than actually thinking about doing the job iyswim (it's hard to explain lol) Nonetheless I am absolutely chuffed to beans to get the interviews and in my mind and body I feel I would be capable of doing these jobs. Now, I don't intend to try and get SMP as I know you have to work for 26 weeks with an employer to do so but I want to know that given that do I actually HAVE to tell them I'm pregnant at all? I do want to tell them actually in the hope that I could start after a period of Maternity Leave and the fact that I'm pregnant doesn't change my CV or the qualities that they think I have to have offered me the job in the first place.
My ideal situation would be for me to be offered the job to start after maternity leave which would be 3 months.
Any advice most welcome :-)

At 30 weeks could you seriously not tell them?? You're essentially interviewing for a post you're not in a position to actually take up for 6 months. As you say, go for the experience, but yes, I think past 26 weeks you're obliged to inform them, if the massive bump's not a giveaway...
Good luck :)

Ooh interesting, i wouldn't think you had to tell them at interview -but they might guess. You would be obliged to tell them if you were offered the job though. Think it's on from 26 weeks you have to tell your employers.

If you are happy to take maternity leave of 3 months I would discuss it to be honest, as they may assume it will be much longer.

I also can't see how they wouldn't notice, unless you are a very compact shape!

I'm not showing very much believe it or not and still have clothes which hide the bump lol. As I said in my OP I do want to tell them I think it would be better all round. I don't know when the job starts so it could be next year for example, all I know is that it's a great job I would like now (if it was starting now) but as I am sure that won't be possible (which I'm fine with) so therefore would like to take after maternity leave so this is what I hope would be able to be considered (though not unheard of is unlikely). I keep reading of people who are at the beginning of their pregnancies but no-one nearing the end when it comes to job hunting. I am more than qualified and am sure I am capable of doing the jobs and want to meet these people in person without the fact I am pregnant preventing me getting an interview in the first place (which lets face it, does happen)

I believe (although not 100% certain) that to be eligible for maternity leave you have got to inform them by week 25. I don't mean for pay, I mean to be entitled to any more than the legal minimum of 2 weeks off work after the birth.

Ah right that is useful to know, thanks :-)
