Help with wording on cover letter

I'm an accountant. I have a high up position within a large organisation. I've decided I want to downsize my job - less prominent role, less responsbility, no one to manage, just generally less stressful.

I've seen a job which is exactly what I want - same hours but further down the ladder than I am at the moment.

how do I word it so that;
a. they don't just think I'm applying for any old job just to get out of where I am
b. I don't come across as cocky/over qualified/too good for this job?

This is what I've come up with so far:
'I currently work 30.5 hours per week and I am looking for a less prominent yet busy, interesting role with similar hours. I feel this position is ideal for me to continue to work in my chosen profession whilst still enabling me to meet the demands of my domestic life'

Advice most welcome...... thanks.

I've not been in this precise situation but would it be worth having a chat in confidence with the manager for the role you are applying for (or similar person involved in the selection process)? It might be easier to explain the situation to one person and then word your cover letter according to their response. If they are not sympathetic then would you want that role anyway?

is it the same company or a different one? But I agree a conversation with the manager would be the best way forward
