could you do mobile hairdressing by putting adverts in the local paper and newsagents?

schneebly · 03/03/2006 09:43

why dont you become a moblie hairdresser and work for yourself on your own terms? Set up wouldnt cost too much and maybe you could get a business start up grant? Good luck. Smile

What about temping? I temped from being 6 weeks pg and didn't declare it to anybody! I didn't know I had to, I just turned and did the work - I told colleagues I was pg in conversation. It might work out for the best anyway, I temped in 2 different jobs and BOTH offered me a permantent position, up to and after maternity leave. :)

MamaG · 03/03/2006 09:49

Sorry for the dreadful spelling Blush I'm just typing too fast and not concentrating - honestly! I can spell really! Blush

Northerner · 03/03/2006 09:50

Could you be a temp? Lots of temp waork in offices and stuff.

I got made redundant at 6 months pregnant and could only find temp work. You can't really blame people for not employing a pregnant woman can you? I know you shouldn't say it but it's true.

eve2005 · 03/03/2006 09:52

why do you have to tell them? sorry if i sound clueless but over here you don't have to tell them so if you're not showing for the interview they'd never know. obviously when you get bigger they can see and come up with all sorts of excuses but if they find out after they hire you they can't do a damn thing. are you sure you have to tell them, i thought the laws were pretty similar?

jayjaybaby · 03/03/2006 09:56

i have to tewll them according to my job cjarter from the job centre otherwise im willingly misleading employers app this is as bad as making up qualifications and references and i can be sacked for gross misconduct and by the way im way huge have been since 6 weeks have tried temping but agencies give it the big wahey ur fine we can sort you out them i never hear anything hhas happened with all four ive been in contact with

that sucks, over here it's illegel for them to discriminate against you bcoz your preg. they still do but they have to b a bit more subtle about it. sorry know thats no help to you. do you qualify for benefits or are you completely stuck for income?
