Just wondering if anyone can help with advice for a young friend?
Senior Barman at our busy local, lovely lad hard grafter & good with the punters. I'll call him Alan.
For some reason landlord (know for being an arsey devil with staff) takes against him. Series of gripes against Alan over a period of time, but nothing constructive, no substance for gripes, gets on with all other staff & chef who is co-owner but won't speak up.
Last week boss alleged there was £5 missing from the tips box, & started a search found it under the counter where Alan was working & stores his order pad/pens etc. Used this as grounds for dismissal but actually said he'd give him a good reference if he "went quietly". Alan has lost his flat above the pub because of this.
I'm fuming as I think it's CD but AIBU before I advise him?
