Please humour me. I am panicking about an interview tomorrow! I already have a job but this is 'THE' job. I want it so much but I am scared I will say something silly! I do go a bit funny under pressure! Ack!

Ooo, good luck! Were there any interesting questions?

nickelbarapasaurus · 10/07/2012 13:51

what did they ask?
how did it go?
were you nice to the receptionist?

I was lovely to the receptionist, I got in all about the ofsted report and their PSHE inspection. I gave good examples for things.

I have just had the call saying I did not get the job and offering feedback.

Feedback was good CV, and interviewed really well and could not really improve in that respect but the other candidate (out of 6) just had a bit more experience than I did.

So even though I didn't get it, I still have a job and feel really happy and confident and know what is needed from me!

So I'm happy and optimistic an would like to thank everyone for their time, stories and tips!

They asked: why do you want this role/ what could you bring to the role?

What 3 things would you expect a child to get out of Catholic education?

What do you feel your main role would be as a teaching assistant?

What would you do if you saw a child being treated unfairly?

well, it's always the way, isn't it - losing out to experience.

I had that quite a lot when I was a graduate.

I'm glad you're being optimistic :)

Also the question I put to the head was:

I am aware that the government has stopped funding for 'Every Child Matters.' but a lot of schools are keeping te framework in place, is that the case at St. Columba's?

To which the head told me about how they were keeping it in place and were confident in it and they needed to slightly improve on preparing children to be economically responsible, to which I then gave him another example as to how I had done that in the past...

oooh, very good question.
it shows that you're looking beyond the school itself and care about education.

(and i like that you got a point out of it too Grin )
