Skills developed through parenting in job application?

I am looking to get back to FT work after 2,5 years being SAHM. I also finished my phd and had a temporary p/t job in the meantime.

I am doing an online application that is asking among others for concrete examples of planning skills, multitasking and ability to prioritize.
Would it be appropriate to mention juggling between DS and the phd or would they laugh at me?

I'd say it would depend on whether they'd appreciate the challenges of writing up or not. I think it's a very solid example of your ability at all of those skills, but I have a PhD and have since had children Grin. I'd chuck persistence and tenacity in too. But I'd be careful of the wording, keep it very factual. Good luck.

Time management
Meeting deadlines by setting SMART objectives
I would defintely use the phd as examples of all the things you mentioned. Getting a thesis on in time shows that you have been organised, and can plan and prioritise.
Good luck Smile

Thank you for your replies.
I highlighted multitasking by keeping up to phd and parenting responsibilities.
I was tempted to mention breastfeeding while on MN too, but I restrained myself in the end Grin
