if a grievance is upheld against a manager, what happens to the manager? what does the person raising the grievance get?

The person raising the grievance is told that the grievance has been upheld. They will not tell you what action (if any) they are taking against that person. Most of the time it is simply noted on the file and the person "spoken to".

oh... what is the point then?

It depends on the nature of the grievance. A manager is liable to the same penalties as any other employee eg a warning or even dismissal It depends on the complaint.

Depends entirely on the grievance. A manager might be disciplined if that would be appropriate. The employer raising the grievance doesn't 'get' anything, although it would be usual to ask them what they would like to happen as a result of their grievance.
