Just applying for my dream job working locally to me and wondered if anyone had any advice?

Do is just respond to the person specification or the job description?

the most important thing is make sure you present evidence for the essentials listed on the job spec

Which is the person specification. List them one by one and demonstrate how you meet it, giving examples. It will probably say something like:
Essential Experience - Ability to work under pressure
Within my present role, I am required to manage various projects, prioritising where necessary. Monthly targets are set to which I adhere to. An example of this is ??????
I think LA applications take ages as you have to think about the examples. The person spec may also indicate how you will be assessed with A - application; T - test and I - Interview

Agree with Angel, the person spec should tell you how the panel will assess each of the essential/desirable criteria, but it is worth giving evidence of all of them.

And it may seem obvious, but do it in word, so you can spell check over and over, the C and P into the online version when you are happy with it. A run off a copy before pressing send, so you can remember what you said if you are called for interview. Grin

Good luck
