I work for a BIG very naice company... heston and delia etc

I started after I got PG, but I was only 8 weeks when I started, and wasnt PG when I was offered the job!

Anyyyy way, been signed off since 19th March - i received full pay last month, but this month theyve paid me £32.35!

I understand I may not be entitled to huge pay benefits, but thats less than SSP by my workings.... errr and I feel too uncomfortable to talk to my manager as I think they think I just took the job to get mat pay. Which I wont do.

I was in a similar situation - pg when started a job. I was not entitled to SMP. You can apply for maternity allowance, which is the same amount as SMP.

Can't help you on the SSP though.

Am pretty sure you need to have been in continous employment for 26 weeks by the time you reach the 15th week which is the qualifying week, which is the 15th week prior to the baby being due, to qualify for SMP.

Um, maternity allowance is the pay over x weeks, then you get the average pay per week up to a maximum of £123 (iirc). You have to apply Via Govt though.

Do you have your matb1?

WheresMyCow · 23/05/2012 16:09

Can depend on their sick pay policy as well. Also what date your sicknote covers you up to, frequency of pay etc etc.

Can't really help much without more info, sorry.

SSP you should get after your initial work period is up, normally 3 or 6 months. How long have you been employed by them?

Dprince · 23/05/2012 21:56

How many hours do you work and are contracted to?
