employer changing flexible working arrangement

can an employer change a flexible working arrangement?
I work p/t flexible hours at the moment. Employer is changing the way that our team work. I would have to start at 9.00 and work till 4.00, rather than start later and finish earlier( but currently spread over more days in the week).
If this was the case I would have to resign as I am the primary carer for my disabled child and have to do the drop off/pick up from school.
Any advice?
Haven't actually discussed this with team leader yet, but wanted to know a bit about it before I did so.

They can't generally change it without your agreement. Once in place it is a permanent arrangement (continuing even after your children grow up).

In certain situations, if they are changing everyone's contracts and consulting with them then they have some grounds to argue that they can go ahead and do it, but it is a very grey area.

I'd just tell the team leader that you're hours were fixed permanently some time ago to enable you to care for your disabled child so you will be staying on these hours even if the other members of the team switch. If he then says you can't stay on those hours then you need to tell him you are protected in law.

TBH it isn't quite as cut and dried as that, but try that tack first and see what they say.

When was your flexible working agreed and was it a permanent change to your contract or agreed as a temporary or trial period?
